Reliability

Reliability is a cornerstone of influence. Reliability is built over time through repeated positive interactions and destroyed in an instant when we do not follow through as promised.

Humility

The West African Adinkra symbol, Dwennimmen, literally means “ram’s horns.” It symbolizes that even the strong must be humble. It’s true you can build influence through strength, but you will build even more influence through humility.

Alliance

An arrow can move only one direction when shot: forward! Likewise, the influencer has one singular focus: forward progress. And in many Native American cultures, crossed arrows represent an alliance or strong relationships, which are absolutely vital to building influence.

Reliance on Others

Owuo Atwedee is the “ladder of death.” This symbol gets its name from the Akan proverb, “Owuo atwedee baakofoo mforo” meaning, “Death’s ladder is not climbed by just one person.” In other words, within our organizations we must all rely upon each other for mutual success.

Search for Truth

When the average penguin hears something that is “mostly correct,” they become laser-focused on fixing what is incorrect. Not Indigo! His eternal search for truth seeks what is right in any situation and focuses on areas through with he can have a positive and measurable impact.

Perseverance

Indigo’s relentless drive for organizational results is unparalleled. Notice how the heart and infinity symbol are interconnected? This reminds Indigo that the journey towards greatness does not have a finish line, and it is paved with caring about people and results.

Fun

Very few emotions drive influence like joy.  Take a moment to laugh at yourself and not take everything so seriously!  But remember…never find your laughter and fun at the expense of others.  That will quickly destroy your influence with everyone involved!
